Private Capital Markets Update – Q4 2024

Despite previous optimism that improving macroeconomic conditions would support renewed activity across capital markets, transaction activity waned at the end of 2024. With the Fed recently signaling that it would pause further rate cuts, a broader resurgence in transaction activity has become uncertain and previous hopes for more exit-friendly dealmaking conditions have dissipated. However, a growing backlog of exit-ready companies and mounting pressure from investors seeking distributions may still push more deals to come to market over the coming months.
