Private Capital Markets Update – Q1 2025

Improving lending conditions and receding inflationary concerns supported a more favorable economic outlook and sparked greater exuberance for dealmaking activity at the onset of 2025. However, late Q1 tariff policy has introduced additional volatility into the market that is weighing on prospective sellers and investors alike. Despite the uncertainty permeating in public markets, private markets continue to enjoy a healthy amount of liquidity, which sets the stage for a rebound in M&A as soon as confidence returns to the sellers.
