Positive macroeconomic data and the start of the Fed’s rate-cutting cycle have allied concerns about the economy going into 2025. Despite this, the impact of these developments on capital markets remains to be fully seen amid continued sluggish levels of M&A and IPO activity. Transaction volumes have recently increased, however many companies are continuing to wait for the new year before pursuing an exit. While there are indications that a resurgence is on the horizon, especially with PE-backed companies, we are still waiting for the catalyst to spur renewed activity.
