John Chaparro is a Managing Director with RA Capital Advisors. Mr. Chaparro brings over 30 years of experience financing, operating, and advising high growth private and public companies across a broad range of healthcare, software, and technology industries. John previously served as the co-head of Brown Brothers Harriman’s Global M&A Advisory Practice in New York where he advised more than 150 transactions involving over $6 billion in value with a reputation for deep strategic insight and delivering exceptional results.
In the area of healthcare, Mr. Chaparro served as a member of the Nashville Healthcare Council and was involved in the formation of University of California San Diego (UCSD) Connect, a pioneering incubator of healthcare, life sciences and technology enterprises.
Prior to joining BBH, Mr. Chaparro served as a C-suite executive for several successful private equity backed ventures including as the COO of Physix, Inc., an early developer of mobile hand-held clinical EMR solutions that was ultimately sold to Data Critical in 1995. He began his career as a corporate attorney with the Emerging Company and Technology Practice of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in Palo Alto and was an investment associate with Canaan Partners where he led investments in technology-enabled service, healthcare and software enterprises.
He earned his JD/MBA from Stanford Law School and Graduate School of Business and graduated cum laude from UCSD, Revelle College.
